Invisible Words explores what remains when speech recedes. In To the Lighthouse (1927), Virginia Woolf approaches grief indirectly: through shifts in the experience of time, memory, and the surrounding world.

Representation gradually gives way to a more uncertain field. The work is structured around a tension between two experiential states: the impulsive and the contemplative, immediacy and motion contrasted with silence, duration and attentiveness. Drawing on Aby Warburg’s concept of the Pathosformel, the book examines gestures through which emotion persists beyond its original context.

Across these sections, the work moves from the personal toward the collective and increasingly immaterial modes of experience. Invisible Words brings together photographs from 2003 to 2026, including images from the Attunement and Tuning series.
